About Kia ProCeed
The Kia ProCeed is a compact car developed primarily for the European market as part of the Ceed family. It was introduced in 2007 as the pro_cee’d, a sportier three-door alternative to the regular cee’d hatchback. A second generation followed for 2013, retaining the coupé-like three-door layout and adding the first pro_cee’d GT performance model.
For the third generation, Kia substantially changed the concept. Production began in late 2018, with European sales starting in early 2019. Renamed ProCeed, it became a five-door shooting brake combining a low, coupé-inspired roofline with the cargo capacity and everyday usefulness of an estate car. The model was designed, developed and engineered in Europe and is built at Kia’s Žilina plant in Slovakia alongside other Ceed variants.
The ProCeed occupies the design-focused, sporty end of the Ceed range, positioned between a conventional hatchback and the more practical Ceed Sportswagon. Third-generation versions have mainly included GT-Line models and the more powerful GT, although engines, transmissions and equipment vary by country and model year. It is known for distinctive styling, a versatile five-door body, front-wheel drive and a driving character intended to be more dynamic than that of the standard Ceed.
