About Kia Granto
The Kia Granto was a medium- and heavy-duty commercial truck introduced in 1995. It originated within Asia Motors, then Kia’s commercial-vehicle subsidiary, and was created to bring several large-truck offerings together under one model family. Depending on the market and production period, vehicles may carry Asia or Kia branding.
Rather than a passenger vehicle, the Granto was a cab-over work truck intended for freight, construction and other industrial operations. The range covered several weight classes and chassis lengths, with configurations including cargo trucks, dump trucks and tractor units. Multiple axle layouts allowed operators to select versions suited to different payload and body requirements.
The Granto remained essentially one 1990s-era model family rather than progressing through clearly separated generations. Kia’s heritage specifications list rear-wheel drive, a V8 diesel engine and overall lengths ranging from 8,100 to 11,780 mm, although equipment and dimensions varied by version.
