About Kia Forte
The Kia Forte is a compact passenger car introduced in North America for the 2010 model year. It occupied the position above the Rio subcompact and below Kia’s Optima, later renamed K5, providing a mainstream alternative in the competitive compact-car class.
Produced across three generations, the Forte was best known as a four-door, front-wheel-drive sedan. Earlier line-ups also included the Forte5 five-door hatchback and the Forte Koup two-door coupe, although body styles and availability varied by market and model year. Related versions of Kia’s global compact car were sold under names including K3 and Cerato in some regions.
The Forte established its place in Kia’s range through practical packaging, competitive equipment levels and accessible pricing. Most versions prioritised everyday comfort and fuel economy, while sportier trims added stronger engines, firmer chassis tuning and more distinctive styling. Later models offered updated infotainment and a broader range of driver-assistance features, with GT-Line and turbocharged GT variants widening its appeal.
The 2024 model was the final Forte in the United States. For 2025, Kia introduced the K4 as its next-generation compact sedan and successor in this part of the line-up.
