About Kia EV9
The Kia EV9 is a large, three-row battery-electric SUV introduced in 2023. It is Kia’s first three-row electric SUV and serves as the flagship of the brand’s dedicated EV range, aimed at buyers seeking family-sized space without an internal-combustion powertrain.
Built on Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP electric platform, the EV9 combines a long wheelbase and boxy body with six- or seven-seat layouts, depending on version and market. It is known for its spacious, flexible cabin, angular styling, 800-volt charging architecture and available vehicle-to-load power supply. Rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations are offered.
The model remains in its first generation. The range includes standard- and long-range versions, plus more highly equipped or sport-styled GT-Line models. A higher-performance EV9 GT is also available in selected markets, while trim names, batteries and equipment vary by region.
Production began in South Korea, while North American assembly started at Kia’s West Point, Georgia plant in May 2024. Within Kia’s line-up, the EV9 occupies the premium end of the SUV range and is notable for combining genuine three-row practicality, rapid-charging capability and available towing capacity on a purpose-built electric platform.
