About Kia Enterprise
The Kia Enterprise was a large rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan introduced in South Korea in 1997 and produced until 2002. It served as Kia’s flagship passenger car as the brand expanded beyond practical, mass-market vehicles into the premium segment. Kia identifies it as its first traditional rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan.
Developed from the second-generation Mazda Sentia, the Enterprise was a four-door executive model with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. It remained a single-generation car throughout production. Conservative styling, including a long bonnet, low roofline, rectangular headlamps and formal proportions, gave it the appearance expected of a late-1990s luxury saloon.
The range included V6 petrol engines of approximately 2.5, 3.0 and 3.6 litres. Early versions included the 3.0 SL and flagship 3.6 CEO, while later offerings added 2.5-litre models and the high-specification 3.0 Summit. A 2000 model-year update brought revised engines and additional equipment.
The Enterprise is chiefly known for combining substantial dimensions, rear-wheel drive and V6 power with a comfort-oriented executive character. Its formal road presence and premium role distinguished it from Kia’s mainstream range and made it an important model in the development of the company’s flagship-car ambitions.
