About Jaguar F-TYPE
The Jaguar F-TYPE is a two-seat sports car introduced as a convertible in 2013, with the coupé following in 2014. It marked Jaguar’s return to the dedicated two-seat sports-car segment and became the brand’s principal performance model, drawing on the lineage associated with cars such as the E-type without directly recreating them.
Built at Castle Bromwich in the UK, the F-TYPE used a front-engine layout and an aluminium-intensive structure. Most versions were rear-wheel drive, while all-wheel drive was offered on selected higher-output models. During its production run, it was sold with supercharged V6 and V8 petrol engines, plus a later turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder in some markets. The range included standard, S, R, SVR and R-Dynamic variants, with specifications varying by year and region. Final 75 editions preceded the end of production in 2024.
Available as a fixed-roof coupé or soft-top convertible, the F-TYPE occupied the focused sports-car end of Jaguar’s lineup. It is known for its long-bonnet proportions, compact cabin, responsive handling and distinctive exhaust character, especially in V8 form. Later updates modernised the exterior and interior while retaining the basic front-engine sports-car layout. Its blend of performance, design and everyday usability made it a notable modern Jaguar and closed an important chapter in the brand’s combustion-engined sports-car tradition.
