About INFINITI QX55
The INFINITI QX55 is a five-seat compact luxury crossover with a coupe-style roofline. Unveiled in 2020 and introduced for the 2022 model year, it was conceived as a more design-focused counterpart to the QX50 and a modern reference to the influential INFINITI FX. Its sweeping profile placed style and road presence ahead of the shape of a conventional SUV.
The QX55 remained in a single generation, with its production cycle concluding in 2025. In the United States, it was offered in LUXE, ESSENTIAL and SENSORY grades. Differences mainly involved interior materials, infotainment, audio, convenience and driver-assistance equipment rather than alternative engines or body styles.
All versions used a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder VC-Turbo engine, a continuously variable transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The variable-compression engine was a defining technical feature, while the sliding rear seat helped maintain passenger and cargo flexibility despite the sloping roof.
Within INFINITI’s range, the QX55 occupied the sportier, more style-led side of the compact premium crossover class. It was known for its sculpted body, 20-inch wheels, distinctive rear lighting, driver-oriented cabin and dual-screen infotainment layout. Compared with the QX50, it traded some utility for a more expressive silhouette.
