About INFINITI Q70
The INFINITI Q70 is a four-door executive luxury sedan that served as the brand’s flagship saloon. Introduced for the 2014 model year, it was essentially the existing Y51-generation INFINITI M under the company’s revised naming system, rather than a completely new model. The Q70 remained in production through the 2019 model year.
Only one underlying Q70 generation was produced, with updates to styling, equipment and trim during its lifespan. Major variations included the standard-wheelbase Q70 and the Q70L, a long-wheelbase version introduced for 2015 with substantially more rear-seat space. Depending on the market and model year, the range included petrol V6 and V8 engines, a V6 petrol-electric hybrid and diesel options. Rear-wheel drive was central to the design, while all-wheel drive was available on selected versions.
Positioned above the Q50, the Q70 competed with established premium executive sedans while offering a distinctly Japanese alternative. It is particularly known for its flowing exterior design, driver-focused layout, strong naturally aspirated engines and comfort-oriented cabin. The Q70L placed greater emphasis on rear-passenger accommodation, while V8 models gave the range an uncommon performance character within its class.
