About INFINITI Q50
The INFINITI Q50 is a compact executive sports sedan introduced in 2013 for the 2014 model year. It succeeded the G sedan as INFINITI’s core four-door performance model and was the first vehicle launched under the brand’s Q and QX naming system. Production for global markets began at the Tochigi plant in Japan.
The Q50 remained within a single generation throughout its production run, receiving styling, technology and powertrain updates rather than a complete redesign. It competed with established European, Japanese and American premium sedans, combining rear-wheel-drive architecture with optional all-wheel drive on many versions. Production ended after the 2024 model year.
Engine choices varied by year and market. Early versions included a 3.7-litre V6 and a 3.5-litre V6 hybrid, while some regions also received four-cylinder petrol or diesel engines. Later North American models centred on a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6. The range-topping Red Sport 400 produced 400 horsepower and added performance-focused suspension, braking and styling features.
The Q50 is known for its strong acceleration, driver-focused layout, distinctive exterior design and available Direct Adaptive Steering. Within the INFINITI lineup, it served as the brand’s main premium sports sedan and a more practical four-door companion to the Q60 coupe.
