About INFINITI M30

The INFINITI M30 was a two-door luxury model offered for the 1990–1992 model years. It was one of INFINITI’s first two vehicles, launching alongside the larger Q45 flagship as Nissan established its premium brand in North America. The M30 occupied a more accessible, style-focused position in the early lineup.

Based on the Japanese-market Nissan Leopard F31, the M30 used a rear-wheel-drive platform and was built in Japan. It was initially sold as a four-seat coupe, with a convertible joining the range for 1991 and continuing through 1992. These were the only major body variations, and the model remained within a single generation.

All M30 versions used a naturally aspirated 3.0-litre V6 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Its character emphasised smooth operation and comfortable touring rather than outright sports-car performance. Notable equipment included leather upholstery, automatic climate control and an electronically adjustable suspension system designed to adapt damping to road conditions.

The M30 is best known for its understated grand-touring design, uncommon convertible version and role in INFINITI’s launch-era range. Although the M name later returned on unrelated luxury sedans, the original M30 remained a distinct, short-lived coupe and convertible.
