About INEOS Grenadier
The INEOS Grenadier is a purpose-built, body-on-frame 4x4 created as the first model line from INEOS Automotive. Series production began in 2022 at Hambach, France, in a former Mercedes-Benz plant. It was developed as a durable, function-led alternative to increasingly road-focused luxury SUVs.
Its core hardware includes permanent four-wheel drive, beam axles, a two-speed transfer case and BMW-sourced 3.0-litre inline-six engines paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Petrol and diesel availability varies by country. The design emphasises off-road traction, towing, load carrying and the integration of work or touring accessories.
The main version is the five-door Station Wagon. Selected markets also receive two- or five-seat Utility Wagons. The Quartermaster uses a longer wheelbase and double-cab pickup body, while a chassis-cab supports specialist conversions. Fieldmaster and Trialmaster editions group equipment for touring and more demanding off-road use.
Positioned as a premium but utilitarian 4x4, the Grenadier targets owners who need a work, expedition or recreation vehicle with modern comfort.
