About Hyundai New Power Truck
The Hyundai New Power Truck is a cab-over medium- and heavy-duty commercial truck introduced in South Korea in 2004 as an evolution of the Hyundai Super Truck. Produced at Hyundai’s Jeonju commercial vehicle plant in Wanju, it was designed for freight, construction and specialist-body work. The range has included cargo trucks, chassis cabs, tractor units, tippers and concrete mixers, with 4x2, 6x4 and other multi-axle layouts offered according to version and market.
It is best viewed as one long-running model generation with regular updates to engines, emissions equipment, safety systems and cabin features, rather than a series of complete redesigns. The Trago arrived in 2006 and the Xcient later became Hyundai’s flagship heavy truck, while the New Power Truck remained as a simpler, lower-positioned work vehicle for selected applications. The Korean range has focused on 4x2 and 6x4 cargo or chassis-cab models, a 15-ton tipper and a 6 m³ mixer.
The model is known for practical cab-over packaging, flexible chassis choices and suitability for specialist conversions. Diesel engines and manual, automatic or automated manual transmissions vary by year and specification. Availability and badging also differ by destination market, with related export models sometimes carrying Super Truck or HD-series names.
