About Hyundai Alcazar
The Hyundai Alcazar is a three-row SUV developed by Hyundai Motor India and introduced in 2021. Made in India, it is related to the Creta but uses a longer body and wheelbase to accommodate a third row. In Hyundai’s Indian range, it sits above the five-seat Creta and below the Tucson, aimed at buyers who need extra seating without moving to a much larger SUV.
The model remains in its first generation. Early versions combined a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel; later updates introduced a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. A major 2024 facelift added revised styling, an updated cabin, more technology and broader availability of driver-assistance features.
Alcazar models come with six or seven seats. Six-seat versions use second-row captain’s chairs, while seven-seat versions have a bench. Depending on engine and trim, transmissions include a six-speed manual, six-speed torque-converter automatic and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The range has included Executive, Prestige, Corporate, Platinum and Signature trims, plus the darker-themed Knight edition.
The Alcazar is known for its flexible cabin, comfort-focused equipment and broad powertrain choice. It is positioned as a family-oriented, more premium alternative to Hyundai’s smaller SUVs, emphasising long-distance usability, connected features and three-row practicality rather than off-road ability.
