About Honda That's
The Honda That’s is a compact kei-class wagon developed mainly for the Japanese market. Introduced in February 2002, it was positioned as an easy-to-use personal car for everyday travel. Its tall, box-shaped body followed Honda’s “round-square” design theme, combining rounded corners with simple surfaces and a large glass area. This gave the model a distinctive appearance while supporting good outward visibility and easy placement on narrow roads.
The That’s was offered in a single generation and remained on sale until 2007. Power came from a 656 cc three-cylinder petrol engine paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Early versions included naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines, with both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive available. The range also included Item and Special Edition models, plus Almas mobility versions designed to assist wheelchair users. A 2006 update revised the exterior details, simplified the range and discontinued the turbo engine.
Within Honda’s kei-car line-up, the That’s occupied a style-focused but practical position. It is known for its upright seating, accessible cabin, flexible rear seating and flat, usable luggage area. A column-mounted gear selector also helped create more open space between the front seats. Rather than emphasising performance or luxury, the model concentrated on compact dimensions, straightforward controls, urban manoeuvrability and everyday versatility.
