About Honda Pilot
The Honda Pilot is a three-row midsize crossover SUV developed mainly for North American families. Introduced for the 2003 model year, it gave Honda a larger, more conventional SUV above the CR-V, combining unibody construction and car-like road manners with a spacious cabin, flexible cargo space and seating for up to eight.
The Pilot has progressed through four generations. Each has retained the original family-oriented formula while adding more interior room, safety technology and comfort features. Styling has varied from relatively restrained to more rugged and upright. The fourth generation, introduced for 2023, uses a V6 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission.
Depending on model year and specification, the Pilot has been offered with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Versions range from practical entry-level models to well-equipped Touring, Elite and Black Edition trims. TrailSport variants add features intended for light off-road use, including all-terrain tyres, underbody protection and a specially tuned suspension.
Designed and developed in the United States, the Pilot has been produced in Alabama since the mid-2000s. It serves as Honda’s main three-row SUV and one of the brand’s largest passenger vehicles. The model is best known for family-friendly packaging, a comfortable ride, versatile seating and a balance between everyday refinement and useful towing or all-weather capability.
