About Honda Logo
The Honda Logo is a small hatchback produced from 1996 to 2001. Developed mainly as an urban car, it occupied the space below the Civic in Honda’s passenger-car range. Its compact exterior, relatively tall cabin and simple layout were intended to provide practical everyday transport without unnecessary size or complexity.
Honda offered the Logo in three-door and five-door forms in Japan, while the European version arrived in 1999 as a three-door model. The car was built through one generation, with styling, safety and suspension updates introduced during production. It replaced the earlier small Honda City in Japan and was followed by the more versatile Fit, known as the Jazz in many export markets.
Power came from a 1.3-litre petrol engine, with output varying by version. Depending on market and grade, transmissions included a five-speed manual, three-speed automatic and Honda’s Multi Matic CVT. Most cars used front-wheel drive, although Real Time four-wheel drive was available on selected Japanese-market models.
The range included basic B and G grades, better-equipped L versions and the sportier TS and Sportic variants. The Logo is known for manoeuvrability, good cabin space for its footprint and straightforward mechanical design. It represents Honda’s late-1990s approach to the compact city-car class before the Fit/Jazz adopted a more flexible interior concept.
