About Honda Fit

The Honda Fit is a subcompact five-door hatchback introduced in Japan in 2001. Known as the Honda Jazz in Europe and many Asia-Pacific markets, it serves as Honda’s practical small-car offering and has been produced in several countries for regional and export sales. North American sales began for the 2007 model year and ended after the 2020 model year, while the Fit or Jazz continues in other markets.

Four generations debuted in 2001, 2007, 2013 and 2020. Although styling, engines and technology have evolved, each generation has retained a strong focus on space efficiency. Honda’s centre-tank layout places the fuel tank beneath the front seats, helping create a low rear floor, a roomy cabin and flexible rear seating. Depending on the model, the rear seats can fold flat or lift upwards to accommodate tall items.

The range has included petrol and hybrid powertrains, manual and continuously variable transmissions, and all-wheel drive in selected markets. Notable variations have included the sportier RS and the crossover-styled Crosstar, alongside simpler and more comfort-focused grades. The current generation also offers Honda’s two-motor e:HEV hybrid system in applicable regions. The Fit is best known for combining compact exterior dimensions with versatile passenger and cargo space, economical operation, good visibility and easy urban manoeuvrability.
