About Genesis GV70

The Genesis GV70 is a compact luxury crossover SUV introduced in 2020. It was Genesis’ second SUV after the larger GV80, bringing the brand’s design and comfort priorities to a smaller, more agile format. Positioned below the GV80, it competes in the premium compact SUV class while providing more cargo space and a higher driving position than the G70 sedan.

Built on a rear-wheel-drive-based platform, the GV70 is available with all-wheel drive in many markets. Powertrain choices vary by country and model year. Turbocharged four-cylinder and V6 petrol engines form the main range, while some markets have also received a diesel version. Sport packages and higher-performance specifications add distinctive styling and chassis upgrades without changing the basic body style.

The Electrified GV70 provides a battery-electric, dual-motor alternative while retaining the conventional model’s general body and cabin layout. It became the first Genesis vehicle assembled in the United States, with production in Montgomery, Alabama, alongside sourcing from Ulsan, South Korea.

The GV70 is known for its flowing profile, two-line lighting signature, driver-focused cabin and emphasis on materials, technology and refinement. A 2024 update introduced revised exterior details and a wide 27-inch display in several markets.
