About Ford Mustang Mach-E
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is a five-door battery-electric crossover SUV introduced for the 2021 model year. Production began in 2020 at Ford’s Cuautitlán plant in Mexico. It applies Mustang-inspired styling and performance themes to a practical family vehicle, but it is separate from the traditional Mustang coupe and convertible.
The model remains in its first generation, with regular technical, equipment and styling updates rather than a complete redesign. Configurations vary by market and model year, but include single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive, along with standard- and extended-range battery options. The cabin seats five and combines a large central touchscreen with flexible rear cargo space.
Major versions have included Select and Premium models aimed at general use, the higher-performance GT, and the Rally, which adds distinct suspension tuning and features intended for greater capability on loose surfaces. The current US range continues to offer all four versions.
Within Ford’s lineup, the Mustang Mach-E is a key electric alternative to conventional compact and mid-size crossovers. It is known for quick electric-motor response, a technology-focused interior, useful passenger and luggage capacity, and a broad choice of performance and driving-range configurations.
