About FIAT Ulysse
The FIAT Ulysse is a large multi-purpose vehicle designed for family travel and professional passenger transport. First introduced in 1994, it gave FIAT a presence in the European large-MPV market, offering more passenger space and seating flexibility than the brand’s conventional cars. It was developed through FIAT’s cooperation with PSA and built in France alongside related Citroën, Peugeot and Lancia models.
Two earlier generations were sold between 1994 and 2010. Depending on model year and market, they offered petrol or diesel engines, manual or automatic transmissions and seating arrangements for up to eight occupants. Sliding rear doors, removable or adjustable seats and a spacious, car-like cabin were central to the Ulysse’s appeal. The second generation, launched in 2002, was larger and placed greater emphasis on comfort, safety and onboard technology.
The name returned in 2022 with the E-Ulysse, a fully electric people mover based on Stellantis commercial-vehicle architecture. Available in standard and long body formats, it combines a multi-row, reconfigurable interior with substantial luggage capacity. Within FIAT’s European range, the Ulysse sits above smaller passenger carriers such as the Doblò and serves customers who need maximum space, flexible seating and easier access than a conventional passenger car can provide.
