About FIAT Siena
The FIAT Siena is a compact four-door saloon developed as the three-box member of the Palio family. Introduced in the late 1990s, it formed part of FIAT’s world-car programme, with Brazil central to its development and production. It was aimed mainly at Latin America and other cost-conscious markets where a separate boot, practical cabin and affordable running costs were important. Production took place in several countries, with specifications adapted to regional needs.
The Siena received several substantial styling, interior and equipment updates while retaining its front-wheel-drive layout and value-focused character. Engine availability varied by country and model year, including small petrol, diesel and flexible-fuel units. Trim names included EL, ELX, HLX and Essence in selected markets. Brazil also received a Tetrafuel version capable of using multiple fuels, while some later models offered FIAT’s Dualogic automated manual transmission.
The larger and more independently styled Grand Siena arrived in 2012, moving the nameplate towards the upper end of the compact-saloon class. Earlier Siena versions remained available for value-focused buyers in some markets. Within FIAT’s range, the Siena served as the practical saloon alternative to the Palio hatchback. It is best known for useful luggage capacity, straightforward engineering, varied powertrain choices and competitive ownership costs.
