About FIAT Qubo
The FIAT Qubo is a compact five-seat MPV introduced in Europe in 2008. Developed as the passenger-focused counterpart to the Fiorino light van, it was produced by Tofaş in Bursa, Turkey, through a manufacturing collaboration between FIAT and PSA. Its upright body combined supermini-like exterior dimensions with the space of a small people carrier.
The Qubo is known mainly for practical packaging. Twin sliding rear doors provide access in narrow spaces, while the large tailgate, tall roof and flexible rear seats help accommodate passengers or bulky luggage. Some versions also have a folding front passenger seat for longer items.
Engine choices varied by year and market, with 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel units forming the core range. Manual transmissions were most common, although FIAT’s Dualogic automated manual was available with certain diesels. The Trekking version added raised suspension, protective styling, mud-and-snow tyres and Traction+ electronic grip assistance rather than four-wheel drive.
A 2016 update revised the exterior, cabin, equipment and trim structure. Positioned below the larger Doblò in FIAT’s range, the Qubo remained a niche alternative to hatchbacks and conventional MPVs. It is valued chiefly for compact dimensions, good visibility, easy access and a versatile interior. Availability ended around 2020, depending on the market.
