About FIAT Bravo
The FIAT Bravo name was used for two generations of compact hatchbacks aimed mainly at the European small-family car market. The original Bravo was produced from 1995 to 2001 as a three-door model, alongside the related five-door FIAT Brava. Together they replaced the Tipo and received the 1996 European Car of the Year award.
The first-generation Bravo was known for its distinctive styling, compact dimensions and broad choice of petrol and diesel engines. Versions ranged from practical entry-level cars to the sportier HGT, which used a five-cylinder petrol engine. The Bravo and Brava were later replaced by the FIAT Stilo.
FIAT revived the Bravo name in 2007 for a new five-door hatchback positioned between the Punto and the brand’s larger family vehicles. This generation replaced the Stilo and placed greater emphasis on passenger space, luggage capacity and everyday usability. Engine choices included conventional petrol units, turbocharged T-Jet petrol engines and MultiJet diesels, with specifications varying by market and year.
European production ended in 2014, while the model remained available in Brazil into 2016. Across both generations, the Bravo served as FIAT’s mainstream compact hatchback, combining practical packaging with more expressive styling than many conventional family cars.
