About FIAT Argo
The FIAT Argo is a five-door compact hatchback developed primarily for South American markets. Launched in 2017, it became a central passenger-car model in FIAT’s Brazilian range. Development and production are based at the Stellantis manufacturing complex in Betim, Minas Gerais, with sales extending to several other Latin American countries.
Early versions included economical 1.0- and 1.3-litre Firefly engines, alongside more powerful 1.8-litre Precision and HGT variants. Later ranges shifted towards the 1.0- and 1.3-litre engines, with manual or CVT transmissions depending on specification. The Trekking version adds crossover-inspired styling and a more adventurous appearance, while Drive models focus on mainstream equipment and everyday use.
The Argo is known for practical dimensions, straightforward controls, efficient powertrains and a useful balance of comfort and running costs. Available equipment has included touchscreen connectivity, electric steering, stability and traction control, parking assistance and LED lighting, although specifications vary by model year and market. It has maintained a strong position in Brazil’s high-volume hatchback segment, passing 750,000 units produced in June 2026 and ranking as FIAT’s second-best-selling vehicle in Brazil during 2025.
