About FIAT 900T
The FIAT 900T is a compact, cab-over van introduced in 1976 as the successor to the 850T. It retained the basic rear-engined layout and much of the established body design, while adopting a 903 cc four-cylinder petrol engine and revised front styling. Production continued into the mid-1980s.
Designed to provide useful interior capacity within a short overall length, the 900T served as one of FIAT’s smallest commercial vehicles. It was aimed mainly at urban businesses, tradespeople and organisations that needed a practical alternative to a full-size van. Its modest dimensions also made it suitable for narrow streets and congested towns.
The range included panel vans for goods transport, mixed passenger-and-cargo versions, and passenger models sold under names such as Pulmino and Panorama. High-roof bodies and specialist conversions were also available in some markets. Independent coachbuilders produced camper, utility and pick-up derivatives, adding to the model’s variety.
In 1980, the series was updated and renamed 900E, with changes to its equipment and mechanical specification. The 900T is best known for its space-efficient shape, simple construction and distinctive forward-control appearance. Within FIAT’s period lineup, it bridged the gap between car-based transport and larger commercial vans.
