About Ferrari F12berlinetta
The Ferrari F12berlinetta is a two-seat, front-mid-engined grand touring coupé introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. It replaced the 599 GTB Fiorano as Ferrari’s series-production V12 flagship and remained in production until 2017, when the 812 Superfast succeeded it.
Produced in a single generation, the F12berlinetta uses a naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V12 delivering 740 metric horsepower, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive. Its transaxle layout supports balanced weight distribution, while the cabin and luggage space make it more suitable for long-distance use than Ferrari’s more track-focused models.
The principal variation was the F12tdf, a limited series of 799 cars unveiled in 2015. Named in reference to the Tour de France road race, it raised output to 780 metric horsepower and added reduced weight, revised aerodynamics, wider front tyres and Ferrari’s Virtual Short Wheelbase rear-wheel-steering system. Bespoke derivatives such as the F12 TRS were also created in very small numbers.
The F12berlinetta is known for combining high-revving V12 performance with grand-touring usability. Its body, developed by the Ferrari Styling Centre with Pininfarina, incorporated features such as the Aero Bridge and active brake cooling. The design received Italy’s Compasso d’Oro award in 2014.
