About Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is a two-seat, front-engined grand touring coupé introduced in 2006. It replaced the 575M Maranello as Ferrari’s flagship series-production V12 berlinetta and remained in the range until the F12berlinetta arrived in 2012. Its name refers to the 5,999 cc engine, Gran Turismo Berlinetta body style and Ferrari’s Fiorano test circuit.
Produced as a single generation, the 599 combined long-distance GT usability with performance approaching that of Ferrari’s contemporary limited-production supercars. Its naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V12 was based on the Enzo engine architecture and produced 620 PS in standard form. The front-mid-engine layout was paired with an aluminium structure, magnetorheological dampers, F1-Trac traction control and carefully developed aerodynamics. Most examples use Ferrari’s six-speed F1 automated manual transmission, although a conventional manual was also available.
Important variations included the handling-focused HGTE package and the more powerful 599 GTO road model. The limited SA Aperta offered an open-top interpretation, while the 599XX was a non-road-legal development car for Ferrari’s track programme. The 599 is particularly known for its large-capacity V12, distinctive Pininfarina styling and balance of high performance with grand-touring comfort.
