About Ducati Hyperstrada
The Ducati Hyperstrada is a sport-touring motorcycle derived from the Hypermotard family. Introduced for the 2013 model year, it combined the upright stance, agile handling and distinctive supermoto-influenced styling of the Hypermotard with equipment intended for commuting and longer road journeys.
The range comprised two closely related versions rather than multiple distinct generations. The original Hyperstrada 821, produced for the 2013–2015 model years, used an 821 cc liquid-cooled Testastretta 11° L-twin. It was followed in 2016 by the Hyperstrada 939, whose revised 937 cc engine provided increased displacement and met Euro 4 requirements. Both versions featured ride-by-wire throttle, selectable riding modes, traction control and ABS.
Compared with the standard Hypermotard, the Hyperstrada added a touring windscreen, a broader seat, passenger grab handles, semi-rigid side panniers, a centre stand, larger mudguards, a sump guard and two 12-volt outlets. Its suspension and ergonomics were also configured for greater accessibility and everyday comfort.
Within Ducati’s range, it occupied a niche between an aggressive road bike and a conventional touring model. It is chiefly known for offering Hypermotard character in a more practical package, while remaining lighter and more compact in concept than Ducati’s larger touring motorcycles.
