About Ducati Diavel
The Ducati Diavel is a performance-focused muscle cruiser introduced for the 2011 model year and produced by Ducati in Bologna. It occupies a distinctive place in the range, combining a low seat, long stance and broad rear tyre with the acceleration, braking and cornering ability associated with the brand’s sport motorcycles.
The first generation used a large-capacity Testastretta L-twin and established the Diavel’s muscular proportions. It was offered in standard and upgraded forms, with variations including Carbon and Strada models. The second generation arrived as the Diavel 1260 for 2019, bringing a 1,262 cc variable-valve-timing twin, a revised chassis and more advanced electronics. The 1260 S added higher-specification suspension, brakes and equipment, while limited editions included the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini.
The third generation, introduced for 2023, changed to the 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine and an aluminium monocoque frame. The Diavel V4 retained the low riding position and 240-section rear tyre while improving refinement and electronic rider support. For 2026, the numbered Diavel V4 RS added the more powerful Desmosedici Stradale engine and racing-derived components.
Within Ducati’s line-up, the Diavel sits between a power cruiser and a large naked roadster. It is known for strong acceleration, distinctive styling, modern electronics and unusually agile handling for its size and format.
