About Dodge Stealth

The Dodge Stealth is a 2+2 sports coupe sold in North America for the 1991–1996 model years. Developed through Chrysler’s partnership with Mitsubishi, it was built in Japan and closely related to the Mitsubishi 3000GT, while receiving distinctive Dodge exterior styling. It combined the proportions of a sports car with the equipment, weight and long-distance character of a grand tourer.

The Stealth remained within one main generation, although a substantial update for 1994 introduced fixed headlamps in place of the earlier pop-up units, along with revised body details. The original range included base, ES, R/T and R/T Turbo versions, before the ES was discontinued. Every version used a 3.0-litre V6, with naturally aspirated engines in the lower and mid-range models.

The R/T Turbo was the performance flagship. Its twin-turbocharged V6 was paired with all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering and a manual transmission, giving it a more advanced specification than most Dodge coupes of its period. The front-wheel-drive R/T offered similar styling with simpler mechanicals.

Within the Dodge lineup, the Stealth served as a technology-focused performance model and grand-touring alternative. It is best known for its wide, low body, distinctive rear spoiler designs, strong V6 performance and the sophisticated hardware fitted to turbocharged versions.
