About Dodge i10

The Dodge i10 was a small five-door city hatchback sold exclusively in Mexico, mainly for the 2012–2014 model years. It was a badge-engineered version of the first-generation Hyundai i10, manufactured in India and distributed through Dodge dealerships while Hyundai was preparing to establish its own Mexican sales network.

This front-wheel-drive subcompact occupied the entry-level end of Dodge’s local passenger-car range. It sat below larger models such as the Attitude and provided a successor in spirit to the similarly compact Atos by Dodge. There was only one Dodge-badged generation; later generations of the i10 were marketed under the Hyundai brand in Mexico.

Mexican versions used a 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 66 hp, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The range included basic GL models, better-equipped GL Plus versions and GLS Safety or Safety & Fun trims. Equipment varied considerably: entry versions focused on simple transport, while upper trims could add air conditioning, power accessories, alloy wheels, audio upgrades, dual front airbags and anti-lock brakes.

The Dodge i10 is chiefly known for its compact dimensions, tall cabin, low running costs and suitability for crowded urban roads. Its market role was practical rather than performance-oriented, giving Dodge Mexico an affordable competitor to other entry-level city cars.
