About Dodge Brisa
The Dodge Brisa was a small, Venezuela-focused passenger car produced from 2002 to 2009 by MMC Automotriz. It was created through the cooperation between DaimlerChrysler and Hyundai, using established Hyundai designs adapted and sold under the Dodge name. The Brisa was not part of Dodge’s mainstream North American range.
Two generations were offered. The first, produced from 2002 to 2006, was derived from the Hyundai Accent and positioned as an affordable compact family car. It was available in saloon and coupé forms, although the less popular coupé was discontinued in 2004. A 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine was the principal power unit.
The second generation arrived in 2006 and changed the Brisa into a smaller hatchback based on the Hyundai Getz. Three- and five-door body styles provided a more modern, urban-focused alternative, while the compact dimensions and front-wheel-drive layout suited everyday commuting. It continued with a small four-cylinder petrol engine and relatively simple equipment.
Within the regional Dodge lineup, the Brisa served as an entry-level model below the brand’s larger cars, SUVs and pickups. It is mainly known for economical transport, straightforward mechanical design and close technical links to Hyundai models. Production ended in 2009 after a short, two-generation run.
