About Daewoo Tacuma
The Daewoo Tacuma is a compact five-seat MPV introduced in 2000. Developed as Daewoo’s practical family vehicle, it combined the footprint and driving characteristics of a passenger car with a taller body, raised seating position and more versatile interior. Its distinctive exterior was styled with input from Pininfarina.
The Tacuma remained within a single generation, identified by the U100 platform code. A facelift for the 2004 model year brought a revised front end and trim updates rather than a complete redesign. Depending on the market, petrol engine choices included 1.6-, 1.8- and 2.0-litre units, paired with manual or automatic transmissions. Equipment levels and engine availability varied considerably by country.
The same model was marketed as the Daewoo Rezzo in some regions. As Daewoo branding was phased out in many export markets, later vehicles were sold under Chevrolet names, including Tacuma and Rezzo. South Korean production continued until 2008.
Within Daewoo’s range, the Tacuma served buyers needing more passenger and luggage flexibility than a conventional hatchback or saloon. It is best known for its roomy cabin, individual rear seating, useful storage and compact external dimensions. Its market position focused on accessible, straightforward family transport rather than luxury or sporting performance.
