About Daewoo Arcadia
The Daewoo Arcadia was a large four-door luxury sedan sold in South Korea from 1994 to 1999. It replaced the Imperial as Daewoo’s flagship passenger car and was intended to restore the brand’s presence in the upper end of the domestic market.
Developed through Daewoo’s partnership with Honda, the Arcadia was based closely on the second-generation Honda Legend and assembled in Korea. It was offered in one generation, without separate body styles or a full redesign. Its proportions, engineering and equipment distinguished it from Daewoo’s smaller, more mainstream sedans.
Power came from a 3.2-litre V6 driving the front wheels. Buyers could choose manual or automatic transmission versions, while trim variations mainly altered comfort and convenience equipment. Early Deluxe and Super specifications were joined by the lower-priced LX, which removed selected luxury features to compete more directly with other Korean executive sedans.
The Arcadia was positioned against models such as the Hyundai Grandeur and Kia Potentia, as well as some imported luxury cars. It is known for its refined V6, double-wishbone suspension, composed road manners and advanced safety equipment for its period, including ABS and available dual front airbags.
