About CUPRA Formentor
The CUPRA Formentor is a compact crossover SUV with coupé-influenced styling and a strong emphasis on road performance. Launched in 2020, it was the first production model designed and developed exclusively for CUPRA, rather than being adapted from an existing SEAT vehicle. It is designed, developed and manufactured at the company’s Martorell facilities near Barcelona.
The Formentor combines a raised driving position and practical five-door body with lower, sportier proportions than a conventional SUV. Standard versions provide the more accessible entry point, while VZ variants add stronger performance and more focused chassis settings. The VZ5 represents the most specialised variation, using a five-cylinder petrol engine and all-wheel drive.
A substantial update introduced in 2024 brought CUPRA’s newer design language, revised cabin technology, upgraded plug-in hybrid systems and more powerful petrol options. Known for its distinctive lighting, copper-coloured details and driver-focused interior, the Formentor has become CUPRA’s best-selling model.
