About Chrysler Town & Country

The Chrysler Town & Country was a family minivan sold for the 1990–2016 model years. Its name had previously appeared on Chrysler station wagons, but the minivan became the best-known modern use of the badge. It was positioned as the more upmarket member of Chrysler’s minivan family, above related Dodge and Plymouth models.

Five minivan generations were produced, beginning with a limited 1990 version and followed by major redesigns for 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2008. Specifications varied by year, with different V6 engines, trim levels and equipment packages. Some generations also offered a choice of wheelbases or all-wheel drive, while later versions were primarily long-wheelbase, front-wheel-drive vehicles.

The Town & Country is known for combining three-row passenger space with family-oriented flexibility and more comfort features than Chrysler’s mainstream minivans. Depending on the model year, equipment included power sliding doors, a power liftgate, rear entertainment systems and Stow ’n Go seating that folded into the floor. Higher trims such as Limited emphasised leather upholstery and additional convenience equipment, while Touring versions formed a major part of the later range.

Chrysler discontinued the Town & Country after 2016. The redesigned Chrysler Pacifica replaced it for the 2017 model year, continuing the brand’s position in the minivan market.
