About Chrysler Sebring

The Chrysler Sebring was a mid-size passenger car sold for the 1995–2010 model years. Named after Sebring, Florida, home of the 12 Hours of Sebring race, it began as a two-door coupe and was joined by a convertible for 1996. These versions succeeded the equivalent Chrysler LeBaron models, while a four-door sedan arrived for 2001 as the successor to the Cirrus.

The Sebring name covered related but not always mechanically identical vehicles. Across its production run, there were three generations of convertible, two generations of coupe and two generations of sedan. The coupes used Mitsubishi-based underpinnings and were built in Illinois, while the sedans and convertibles used Chrysler architectures. The coupe ended after 2005, leaving the sedan and convertible for the final generation.

Within Chrysler’s range, the Sebring occupied the mainstream mid-size class. Four-cylinder and V6 engines were offered, depending on year, body style and market. Its most distinctive version was the four-seat convertible, a more practical open-top alternative to many smaller roadsters. The final convertible offered vinyl, cloth and retractable hardtop roof choices, while selected late sedans were available with all-wheel drive.

The Sebring is mainly known for its wide range of body styles, comfort-oriented character and accessible convertible format. Production ended in 2010, and the Chrysler 200 replaced the sedan and convertible for 2011.
