About Chrysler Concorde
The Chrysler Concorde was a full-size four-door sedan offered for the 1993–2004 model years. One of Chrysler’s original LH-platform cars, it used a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout with V6 power and a four-speed automatic transmission. It replaced the New Yorker Salon as the brand’s entry-level large sedan.
The first generation, sold from 1993 to 1997, introduced Chrysler’s distinctive “cab-forward” design, which placed the wheels near the corners and helped create a spacious passenger compartment. A redesigned second generation arrived for 1998 with more rounded styling, a prominent grille and greater visual separation from related LH models. Engine choices across the two generations included 2.7-, 3.2-, 3.3- and 3.5-litre V6 units.
Versions included the mainstream LX, better-equipped LXi and, from 2002, the upscale Limited. The Limited effectively replaced the Chrysler LHS and used the stronger 3.5-litre V6. Within Chrysler’s range, the Concorde emphasised passenger space, comfort and traditional large-sedan practicality, while the related 300M had a sportier position. Available six-passenger seating further distinguished some versions. The Concorde ended after 2004 as Chrysler moved from the front-wheel-drive LH family to the rear-wheel-drive LX platform, with the Chrysler 300 taking over the brand’s large-sedan role.
