About Chrysler 300M
The Chrysler 300M is a full-size four-door sedan sold for the 1999–2004 model years. It was built in Brampton, Ontario, during the DaimlerChrysler era and formed part of Chrysler’s second-generation LH-platform range alongside the Concorde and LHS. The name revived the letter-based theme of Chrysler’s earlier 300 performance cars.
Produced in a single generation, the 300M combined Chrysler’s cab-forward styling with front-wheel drive and a relatively short overall length for an LH sedan. This helped distinguish it from its larger platform relatives and made it better suited to export markets. North American cars used a 3.5-litre V6 with a four-speed automatic transmission and AutoStick manual gear selection.
The regular 300M was joined for 2002 by the 300M Special, a more performance-focused version with additional power, firmer suspension tuning, larger wheels and distinctive exterior details. Other changes during the production run were mainly equipment, trim and appearance updates rather than separate generations.
Within Chrysler’s range, the 300M was positioned as an upscale, driver-oriented sedan. It shared flagship duties with the LHS before becoming Chrysler’s principal premium sedan after that model ended. The 300M is best known for its spacious cabin, bold styling and blend of American luxury-car comfort with sportier road manners.
