About Chevrolet Veraneio

The Chevrolet Veraneio was a large, truck-based utility vehicle produced by Chevrolet in Brazil from 1964 to 1994. It replaced the Amazona and followed a similar concept to the Chevrolet Suburban, combining a spacious enclosed body with commercial-vehicle foundations. Initially designated C-1416, it adopted the Veraneio name around 1969.

With a broad cabin, generous luggage room and seating for large groups, the Veraneio occupied a position above conventional station wagons. It served private owners and fleets, becoming especially familiar as a police vehicle, ambulance and other public-service transport. Shared components with Chevrolet pickups supported straightforward maintenance and demanding use.

Its production run is usually divided into two main generations. The original model was related to the C-14 and later Série 10 range, with periodic styling, interior and mechanical updates. A redesigned Veraneio arrived for 1989 using Série 20 foundations and sharing more with the C-20, A-20 and D-20 pickup family.

Equipment varied by year, with final models offered in trims such as Custom S and Custom De Luxe. Petrol, ethanol and diesel engines were available at different times. The Veraneio is chiefly known for its size, durability, practical cabin and distinctive place among Chevrolet Brazil’s full-size utility vehicles.
