About Chevrolet S-10

Chevrolet S-10 is a body-on-frame pickup nameplate with two distinct market histories. It debuted in North America for 1982 as Chevrolet’s compact pickup, positioned below the brand’s full-size trucks. The first generation offered regular and extended cabs, different bed lengths, rear- or four-wheel drive, and four- and six-cylinder engines. A more rounded second generation arrived for 1994 and later added a crew cab. North American production ended after the 2004 model year.

In South America, the S10 has been built in Brazil since 1995 and developed into a core midsize pickup for Chevrolet. Regional versions have included single-, extended- and double-cab bodies, chassis-cab derivatives, petrol, flex-fuel and diesel engines, and 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrains. A new generation arrived in 2012, followed by major styling, interior, technology and powertrain updates for the 2025 model year.

The S-10 is known for combining a work-oriented ladder-frame design and useful load capacity with the comfort and equipment expected of a daily-use pickup. Depending on market and period, the range spans basic commercial models to higher-spec lifestyle and off-road versions, including LTZ, High Country, Z71, Midnight and Trail Boss. Within Chevrolet’s current South American pickup range, it sits above the smaller Montana and below the full-size Silverado.
