About Chevrolet Orlando
The Chevrolet Orlando is a compact multi-purpose vehicle produced across two generations from 2010 to 2023. Developed as a practical family model, it combined the passenger capacity of a small minivan with the proportions and styling cues of a crossover.
The first generation was developed mainly by GM Korea and entered production in 2010. Built on GM’s Delta II architecture, also used by the contemporary Chevrolet Cruze, it offered three-row seating for up to seven occupants. Its upright body, flexible cabin and relatively compact footprint placed it between a conventional estate car and a full-size people carrier.
Depending on the market, the Orlando was offered with petrol, diesel or LPG engines, paired with manual or automatic transmissions. Specifications differed considerably between regions. It was sold in South Korea, Europe, Canada, Latin America and parts of Asia, but was not offered in the United States.
A second generation appeared in China in 2018, produced by the SAIC-GM joint venture. This version adopted more pronounced crossover styling and was available with five or seven seats, including sportier Redline variants.
Within Chevrolet’s range, the Orlando served as a space-efficient alternative to larger minivans and SUVs. It is mainly known for versatile seating, practical interior packaging and family-oriented design rather than luxury or performance.
