About Chevrolet Groove
The Chevrolet Groove is a five-door subcompact crossover positioned as an accessible entry point to Chevrolet’s SUV range in selected markets. The production model arrived in 2020 and was introduced in the Middle East for the 2022 model year, following earlier launches in Latin America. It is not offered as a mainstream model in the United States.
The Groove is produced in China through SAIC-GM-Wuling. The first generation was based on the Baojun 510, while the second generation shares its foundations with the Wuling Xingchi. This arrangement allows Chevrolet to offer a region-specific small SUV alongside larger models such as the Captiva.
Two generations have been released. The original Groove used a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine, with manual or continuously variable transmissions depending on the market. The redesigned second generation debuted in 2025 as a 2026 model, bringing larger dimensions, updated styling and, in Middle Eastern specification, a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a CVT and front-wheel drive.
Trim names have included LT, Premier and RS, with equipment varying by country and model year. The Groove is chiefly known for compact urban dimensions, seating for five, flexible rear seats and useful connectivity features. Its focus is everyday practicality and value rather than off-road ability or high performance.
