About Chevrolet Epica
Chevrolet Epica is a mid-size, four-door, front-wheel-drive sedan developed in South Korea within GM Daewoo and sold under the Chevrolet brand in numerous export markets. The name first appeared on a Chevrolet-badged version of the Daewoo Magnus in Canada and selected countries in the early 2000s. The better-known V250 model, related to the Daewoo Tosca, arrived in 2006 and remained in production into the early 2010s, with dates varying by market and production continuing longer in China.
Within Chevrolet’s passenger-car range, the Epica sat above compact models such as the Lacetti and later Cruze. In Europe and some other regions, it served as the brand’s large or flagship saloon and competed in the mainstream D-segment. It was offered only as a sedan, with trim levels and equipment differing between countries.
The Epica is especially notable for its unusual transversely mounted 2.0- and 2.5-litre inline-six petrol engines. Selected markets also received four-cylinder petrol or 2.0-litre turbo-diesel versions, paired with manual or automatic transmissions. A later facelift brought styling, transmission and equipment updates. The model is mainly known for its spacious cabin, smooth power delivery and comfort-focused character. It was eventually succeeded in several markets by the Chevrolet Malibu.
