About Chevrolet BrightDrop
Chevrolet BrightDrop was a purpose-built battery-electric commercial van designed mainly for parcel delivery, service work and other fleet operations. It originated as a separate General Motors business in 2021, when the larger EV600 entered service. The range was later renamed Zevo before moving under the Chevrolet brand for the 2025 model year.
The single-generation model was offered in two body sizes. The BrightDrop 400, previously called the EV410 and Zevo 400, provided a shorter and more manoeuvrable format. The BrightDrop 600, formerly the EV600 and Zevo 600, prioritised maximum cargo volume. Front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations were available, with battery choices varying by version.
BrightDrop used GM’s dedicated electric-vehicle architecture and featured a high-roof walk-in body, a low cargo-floor height and wide access points intended to make frequent stops and loading easier. Its combination of substantial cargo capacity, connected fleet technology and available driver-assistance systems distinguished it from conventional combustion-powered vans.
Production was centred at GM’s CAMI Assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario, which began building the Zevo 600 in December 2022. Within Chevrolet’s lineup, BrightDrop served as the specialised electric alternative to traditional commercial vans. GM suspended production in May 2025 and confirmed its permanent end in October 2025 after demand for electric delivery vans developed more slowly than expected.
