About Cadillac XTS
The Cadillac XTS is a full-size luxury sedan introduced for the 2013 model year as a successor to the DTS and STS. It provided Cadillac with a large, comfort-focused four-door while the brand expanded its range of smaller, sportier sedans. North American production took place in Oshawa, Canada, and ended in 2019; a China-built version continued through 2020.
Only one generation was produced, with a notable design update for 2018. Most versions used a naturally aspirated 3.6-litre V6 and offered front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The V-Sport paired a twin-turbocharged V6 with all-wheel drive. Depending on year, the range included base, Luxury, Premium or Premium Luxury, and Platinum grades.
The XTS was positioned as a spacious, technology-focused alternative to traditional rear-wheel-drive luxury sedans. It is best known for its roomy cabin, large luggage compartment, quiet cruising character and emphasis on ride comfort. Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system, available driver-assistance features and adaptive suspension reflected its place near the upper end of the brand’s passenger-car line.
Cadillac also offered XTS versions for livery and coachbuilder use, including limousine and funeral-coach applications. No second generation followed, as Cadillac moved towards CT-badged sedans and placed greater emphasis on SUVs.
