About Cadillac XT4
The Cadillac XT4 is a five-seat compact luxury crossover introduced for the 2019 model year. It was developed as Cadillac’s entry-level SUV, positioned below the larger XT5 and XT6, and competed with other premium compact crossovers. Its relatively manageable dimensions combined everyday urban usability with a practical passenger and cargo area.
The XT4 remained in a single generation throughout its production run. North American models were assembled at General Motors’ Fairfax plant in Kansas City, Kansas, while versions for China were produced by SAIC-GM in Shanghai. North American production concluded in January 2025.
Most versions used a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive was standard on many models, with all-wheel drive available. The main trim levels were Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport, offering different combinations of equipment, exterior detailing and chassis features. Some European-market vehicles were also offered with a diesel engine.
A substantial update for the 2024 model year introduced revised styling and a wide 33-inch dashboard display. The XT4 is primarily known for its distinctive Cadillac design, compact footprint, modern cabin technology and balance of comfort and utility.
