About Buick LaCrosse
The Buick LaCrosse is a four-door sedan positioned near the top of Buick’s passenger-car range. Introduced in North America for the 2005 model year, it replaced the Century and Regal as Buick consolidated its mid-size sedan line. In Canada, the first generation was initially called the Allure. North American production ended after 2019, but the model continued in China as Buick’s flagship sedan.
The LaCrosse has developed through four global generations, although only the first three reached North America. Early models followed Buick’s traditional comfort-focused formula, while later versions brought more contemporary styling, technology and chassis design. Depending on year and market, choices included four-cylinder and V6 engines, the V8-powered LaCrosse Super, eAssist electrification and hybrid models. Higher trims added premium materials and equipment, with Avenir representing the most upscale specification in later years.
