About Buick Electra E4
The Buick Electra E4 is a battery-electric coupe-style crossover developed for the Chinese market by SAIC-GM. Launched in 2023, it became Buick’s second model based on GM’s Ultium electric vehicle platform, following the larger, more conventionally shaped Electra E5. It also revived the historic Electra name as Buick expanded its range of dedicated electric vehicles.
The five-door E4 has a low roofline, long wheelbase and fastback profile. It occupied a sportier, more design-focused position beside the E5, combining SUV practicality with coupe-like proportions. The model remained in its first generation throughout its relatively short production run. Its main variations included single-motor, front-wheel-drive versions and the higher-specification GS, which added a second motor and all-wheel drive.
Notable qualities include a spacious cabin layout, a panoramic glass roof, hidden door handles and a 30-inch curved 6K cockpit display. Super Cruise driver assistance was available on selected versions. The E4 focused on modern styling, digital technology and practical electric range rather than outright luxury or high performance. Sold only in China, it represented an early stage in Buick’s transition from adapted conventional vehicles to a purpose-built electric model range.
