About Buick Cascada
The Buick Cascada is a four-seat, two-door convertible sold in North America for the 2016 through 2019 model years. It was Buick’s version of the European Opel Cascada and was manufactured in Gliwice, Poland. The model gave Buick a rare open-top offering within a range otherwise centred on sedans, crossovers and SUVs.
Only one generation was offered. All North American Cascadas used front-wheel drive, a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Versions included the standard Cascada, the better-equipped Premium and the Sport Touring, which added distinctive wheels, trim and sport-themed interior details rather than a separate high-performance powertrain.
The Cascada occupied a near-premium touring niche rather than serving as a focused sports car. It was known for its substantial proportions, comfort-oriented equipment and insulated power-folding fabric roof, which could be lowered in 17 seconds while travelling at low speed. Its four-seat layout, heated front seats and driver-assistance features on upper versions supported everyday usability.
Within Buick’s lineup, the Cascada was a style-led specialty model for relaxed open-air driving. Its European engineering, comfort-biased character and short North American production run distinguish it from other modern Buick passenger cars.
